The orginal battle flag of Company E First Regiment Kentucky Volunteers is in serious condition. Unless something is done quickly, this flag will be lost forever. This flag was donated to the Museum of the Confederacy in 1907, by the widow of the last company commander, Capt.. C.L. Randle. In 2007, the current day reenactment organization, 1st Regiment Kentucky Volunteers, Company E raised enough funds to have the conservation cost estimated. To restore this flag will cost $22,000.00.
